We'll Return to CountryTime Tales Briefly

My husband met with his boss yesterday to discuss moving.  His boss' response:  buy a foreclosed house and flip it (In this market, in this small town) or find another way to support yourself and don't rely on the church to provide for you.

ARE YOU FREAKING KIDDING ME?  He works 50 hours a week.  I work two jobs.  We both volunteer.  GET ANOTHER JOB?  RENOVATE A HOUSE?

AARRGGGHHHHHH!!!!!!!!

Wait, why SHOULDN'T he rely on his JOB to provide for him?

LEAVE. RUN AS FAST AS YOU CAN AND NEVER LOOK BACK. Find another church in another town and another denomination and just leave.

Do a search on foreclosed and "addendum" which are nightmare contracts that you sign that invalidate whatever purchase contract said and can really "F" you up because the banks lawyers make sure if anything goes bad, you pay, again.
What a jerk! A lot of the foreclosure people have done things to damage their houses and its not till you're living there that you discover all the horrible things a person can think of to do.
One house I looked at the realtor photo's showed holes in walls. When viewing the home all the holes were patched and the smell of something dead was all over and ants were crawling up the walls to the roof.
My goal was to find a nice house, in a nice neighborhood that we could actually afford. Over a year of looking, making offers, getting beaten by bank rules where someone swoops in with more money for a "short sale" property and they want us to start a bidding war, when our top price was already in! Have gone to houses where there is visible mold and the realtor assures me "easy fix" or previous owner did renovation with no permits and if you buy it - you're expected to rip it out to meet code. Yeah, what a bargain, NOT!
Your church people should be tarred, feathered and run out of town on a rail!

Unbelievable. Now is this the boss that determines if your hubby can seek another position?

Wow--and I'm sure these people are proud of what wonderful Christians they are, too.

I have a husband with a pension and two grown kids, so it would be easy for me to say cut your losses and run but your situation is different. All I can say is that I will send lots of positive energy that an incredible job offer will come your way. Soon.

I hope you get to move.

I like reading your blog, as its interesting and informative.

That response is just appalling. Can you appeal to the people above him? Things like this is why i dont apply for jobs in the country
